Serra (she/her) works with children, teens, adults and parents using person-centered, multiculturally respectful and evidence based approaches. She has a special interest in addressing anxiety, depression, confidence/self-esteem issues and trauma, as well as PTSD and other related conditions. She also has experience working with neurodivergent children and youth and is knowledgeable in Autism and ADHD.

She uses a combination of techniques such as Naturopath Dartmouth, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention among others. She is passionate about creating a safe and collaborative environment for her clients and is committed to ongoing professional development.

Medical cannabis can be consumed in several ways, including inhaled through a vape pen or ingested using a capsule or oil. Regardless of the method you choose, we recommend starting low and going slow to achieve a desired effect. Spectrum operates six homes licensed as Intermediate Care Facilities for the Intellectually Disabled. The individuals living in these residential homes participate in program plans developed by their Interdisciplinary Teams to achieve the greatest level of independence possible.

EMDR Therapy Services

Incorporating EMDR into substance abuse treatment plans addresses the underlying emotional distress that drives many individuals towards addiction as an unhealthy coping mechanism. By addressing trauma, PTSD and persistent negative emotions in the body, EMDR therapy allows patients to develop resilience in their life and overcome the psychological scars that may have contributed to the development of their substance use disorder.

In a similar way that the body works to heal physical wounds, the mind is naturally geared towards psychological healing. However, traumatic experiences and persistent negative emotions can interfere with this natural process and leave lasting psychological scars.

EMDR is a safe and effective form of psychotherapy that does not involve medication. This method of therapy also tends to be much faster than other forms of talk therapy and requires less homework. However, consistency is key to a successful EMDR therapy journey. The more committed and active you are in your sessions, the better results you’ll see.
