Baseball fans were impressed on Monday after Tampa Bay Rays’ Manuel Margot scored a stunning catch after completing a triple home run early in the game.
The 26-year-old likely believed his game peaked when he gave the Rays a 3-0 lead over the Houston Astros in the first innings with a 406-foot homer at Petco Park – the third homer he has made made it into the postseason after only one of 47 regular season games.
However, in the second innings, he successfully chased a hit from George Springer and threw himself over a wall for an incredible catch.
Fans reacted in disbelief, variously referring to his efforts as “one of the greatest pieces I’ll ever see” and “one of the best catches of all time in the postseason”.
Others also paid tribute to the outfielder, while one fan even referred to the competition as a “Manny Margot game”.
That was one of the greatest pieces I’ve ever seen.

It’s not the first time Margot has wowed fans with a spectacular catch at Petco Park, having done the same there while playing for the San Diego Padres.
His efforts helped Tampa to a 4-2 win over the Astros and a 2-0 lead in the American League Championship Series.
