Almost 115,000 customers will be without electricity as of Friday evening because Hurricane Delta is targeting the Gulf Coast, according to Poweroutage.US.
There are 64,055 unpowered customers in Louisiana, which is where the storm is expected to land in the next few hours, the website said.
The municipalities with the highest number of failures are Calcasieu with 16,273 failures, Beauregard with 7,526, Vermillion with 8,466 and Iberia with 7,488, according to the website.
Texas has 50,989 customers without power, most of them in the eastern part of the state. Jefferson County reported 29,544 failures and Orange County 10,015 failures, the website said.
A context: Two weeks ago, Entergy announced that power was restored to all accessible customers in southwest Louisiana after damage from Hurricane Laura in August.
At its peak, Laura left more than 93,000 customers in the state without power.
When Entergy was reached by email on Friday, it did not provide a number of people in Louisiana who did not have electricity, but said that all customers who were able to restore their electricity did so.
