EXCLUSIVE: True Blood’s Stephen Moyer, Belle Shouse (Queen America) and Antonio Cipriano (Jagged Little Pill on Broadway) lead the cast of Safehaven, a supernatural horror series produced by Chicken Soup for the Landmark Studio Group of Soul Entertainment and Orwo Studios (Twilight).
Designed by James Seale (30 Below) and staged by Brad Turner (Homeland), who also acts as showrunner, Safehaven is scheduled to start production in Louisiana in January 2021. Landmark will commercialize the series, which will be distributed by Screen Media Ventures.
Safehaven follows Jenna Frost (Shouse), a ferocious, intricate high school comic book artist who struggles to uncover hidden truths after terrifying visions from her drawings came to life and threatened everyone around her. Moyer plays John Rayburn, the mysterious new school counselor determined to save her, even if it threatens her life and brings to light his own personal demons. To make matters worse, Will (Cipriano), a passionate young man who works to protect Jenna, is torn between refusing his help and her growing feelings for him.

“We now have an amazing trio of talent on board to bring Safehaven to life,” said Ozer of Landmark. “Stephen Moyer is a globally recognized talent, particularly due to his starring role in seven seasons of hit series True Blood, and we have no doubt he’s on board and the emerging talents of Belle and Antonio along with all of the incredible graphics and surprising Plot twists and turns that showrunner James Seale and director Brad Turner have planned for the series will make Safehaven tremendous global appeal, ”said Ozer of Landmark.

Turner and Seale are producing with Jessica Petelle (Wayward Pines, Bitten), Kevin V. Duncan (Juncture), Thomas P. Vitale (Pandora, Slasher), Terry Bird and Jake Seal from ORWO Productions, David Ozer and Tim Rouhana from Landmark and 451 Media Group by Michael Bay.
Moyer, who starred in all seven seasons of HBO’s True Blood, most recently played Reed Strucker in The Gifted and starred in the drama series Fortunate Son. He is again mentored by ICM Partners and Luber Roklin.
House’s TV credits include Samantha Cole in Queen America and Abby Crawford in Secrets and Lies. She also appeared in the report A Million Ways to Die in the West. It will again be looked after by Innovative Artists and Stride Management.
Cipriano has also appeared in City On a Hill and appeared in God Friended Me. He is again mentored by Gersh and Principal Entertainment LA.
