Luis Suarez scored twice and assisted in his debut at Atletico Madrid in an excellent 24-minute cameo. He showed former club Barcelona a sign of what could be missing after his bitter departure.
Suarez came off the bench to replace Diego Costa with his 3-0 side in the 70th minute of Atletico’s game against Granada and set out to make an immediate impression on his new club.
The Uruguayan beat substitute Marcos Llorente two minutes later before hitting the net himself with a header from the back post in the 85th minute.
He finished his cameo with a finish in added time and hit the post with a shot from the edge of the box, but pursued the rebound and finished it.
Atletico won 6-1 and while it is still very early, football fans are already realizing that Suarez and Atletico could be a dream match, especially under the guidance of Argentine manager Diego Simeone.
What a start for Suarez. Two goals and an assist in just 20 minutes on his debut for Atléti. Simeone and Suarez could really be a perfect match.

33-year-old Suarez said goodbye to Barcelona emotionally last week, which was bitter from the nature of his exit.
Despite his six years stint with the Catalans – during that time he scored 195 goals making it third on the club’s all-time list – he was deemed overwhelmed by Barcelona bosses amid the summer cleanup launched after their disastrous 2019-20 campaign.
The decision made friend and former strike partner Lionel Messi particularly angry, who took action against Barca bosses for kicking Suarez out of the club.
