The one who inducted Kobe into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame today was none other than fellow basketball colleague Michael Jordan, and he spoke for the event too.

As for Vanessa Bryant The widow spoke of Kobe as a player, but also as the father of four children, including Gigi, who unfortunately died in the same helicopter crash as her father.
Of course it is a great honor to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but unfortunately since Kobe is no longer with us, Vanessa accepted the honor on his behalf and gave an amazing speech.

She first said, “I thank everyone who helped him get here on his behalf. Gigi would be so proud. He was intelligent, eloquent, and gifted in many ways … I know he would thank everyone who brought him here, including those who doubted him. ‘
She went on to mention that Kobe was “bigger than life” and that he “never took short cuts when it came to basketball. One of the reasons he was injured was because he remembered having a nosebleed to have to watch his favorite player [Michael Jordan] play. He didn’t want to disappoint his fans, especially those in the 300th row who saved up to see him play. ‘
Kobe and Vanessa’s eldest daughter, Natalia Bryant, was also in attendance, wearing Kobe’s jacket and ring to pay tribute to her father on that special day.
As fans know, the helicopter crash happened in January 2020, so more than a year has passed since the tragedy that shocked the world.
